Summer Run Club Recap

Summer Run Club Recap

5 Min Read
By Drivox Team
Twelve weeks, four hundred members and one very wet Thursday in July. Here is how the summer run club finished.

We wrapped last weekend with a five kilometre loop through the park and a lot of cold towels. Thanks to everyone who turned up in the rain, and to the pacers who ran the route twice so nobody finished alone.

What the Twelve Weeks Looked Like

Three pace groups, one long run a fortnight, and a strength session on the opposite side of the week. Nothing exotic — the results came from four hundred people showing up on a Thursday.

"Four hundred members. Nobody finished alone."

Sixty-one members ran their first uninterrupted five kilometres during the block, and the middle pace group dropped an average of forty seconds per kilometre across the twelve weeks.

What Happens Next

  • Winter club opens for booking next month, capped at three pace groups.
  • Thursday meet time moves to 6:30pm while the evenings are dark.
  • The strength companion session stays on Sunday mornings.

Run club is included with every membership tier. Bring a friend for their first session — they do not need a guest pass for it.
